| To a visionay man it occurred, more than a century ago, to leave us something more than just a memory: why not something for the palat? As such, he created in 1889 Brandy Constitución -which some are grateful to him for- and the filled barrels of American oak and the periodical decanting went on improving smell and handmade production.
While the brandy aged to be one of the best spirits that can be tried today, many men of Bernal worked untiringly, investigating in other liquors and finding successful formulas, thus-today may people cannot conceive of a celebration or a get-together without a sip of Anís Salzillo y Bernal or a glass of Siglo XIX. |
With this spirit, convinced that quality is the thing that lasts in our changing world, José Matas Tomás got involved in the modernization of the business and its installations and created, in 1989, the Wine House Casa Bernalwine house of Casa Bernal, a place to bring together the most preeminent products of the best destilleries, cellars and gourmet food producers, those which as here, share the same effort towards constant improvement.
Today, in Casa Bernal, a group of experts is invited each month to select the spanish wines wich will be included in the Taberna of Twelve Wines; courses are given on Initiation to Tasting and one has the possibility of acquiring the best offers of the country and the most select delicatessen. |
